I didn’t choose kitesurfing. Kitesurfing chose me.
I grew up windsurfing from a young age — the water and wind were just part of life. When kitesurfing came along I made the switch and never looked back. That was 20 years ago.
Since then I’ve ridden in Greece, Israel, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Every spot throws something different at you
So why “Kite Mechanic”?
People started handing me their broken gear. Torn canopies, snapped lines, bars that needed rebuilding. I enjoyed fixing things and getting people back on the water — word spread and I became the guy people called when something broke.
Why the site?
I love this sport and I love helping people. I’ve seen beginners quit because nobody explained things properly. I’ve seen good kites get thrown away over repairs that cost almost nothing. That bothered me — so I built KitesurfBase.
